The Greek Fest is an annul tradition in Fort Myers that celebrates the Greek cultural heritage of the community and invites people from other cultures to come and be part of that heritage. When you come with your Florida car rental to the Greek Fest, you may get lost in the food, music, and celebration that is taking place. The Greeks are known for their friendly, welcoming attitude. The festival is held every year to help with the operational cost of the growing parish of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Fort Myers. Also, the church donates a portion of the proceeds to the Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida's bereavement program, to reach out to families who have suffered a tragedy or are coping with the stress and loss of a loved one. This year the festival will also be contributing to buy needed equipment at the hospital for the children who are in recovery from serious illnesses.

Food

The Greek are known for their excellent food. From Souvlaki to gyro, lamb to flaming cheese, there is no shortage of mouth-watering dishes here that will appeal to every taste. Visiting with your Florida car rental be one of the highlights of your day.

Admission to the festival is only $2, and children under 12 are free. But you will want to bring extra cash because food and crafts are extra. Credit cards are not accepted. Parking is free for your Florida car rental and there is also wheelchair access. The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church can be found at 8210 Cypress Lake Drive.

Edison visited the area and bought a property there in 1886. He called his winter home "Seminole Lodge" and used it as a lab and work place until he died in 1931. Friend Henry Ford bought the property next door in 1915 and built "The Mangoes".
